So I’m going back on protein shakes.

This means I can’t label myself as a vegan anymore. I’ll still eat meals and snacks like a vegan, but these particular shakes contain a certain percentage of whey. Yes, I could go for vegan shakes, but the truth is that I have, and they did nothing for me [tasted awful], and gave me no energy for the day.
Sculpt is the brand I used before when I hit my best weight, so I’ll be on it again. They taste soooooooo good, it’s very affordable, and gives me so much energy. Not sure if they sell it internationally, but for all y’all Aussie girls, I recommend it!

I’M ON A PRO-ANA BLOG…

This photo of me was found on a pro-ana / pro-mia thinspo blog by my photographer.
I really don’t know what to say. I’m quite outraged, to be honest. To think people see this image as a source of inspiration to destroy their bodies for their own self-satisfaction?

Anorexia and Bullimia are some of the worst mental illnesses any girl or boy could obtain, with most of the blame shifting to the negative image society has thrown into our minds of “what is beautiful” or “what is accepted”. Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, and if it doesn’t kill you, it will ruin you if no help is seeked out. I have friends who have suffered with various eating disorders, and I’ve gone through it, too. It’s awful and it’s hard, but there’s no legitimate excuse for it.
We in a first-world country have it so lucky. So many people out there are dying from famine, with practically no food or water for them to salvage without risk of putting their lives on the line. Children die in their mothers’ arms from chronic starvation and disease. And in reality, they’d probably kick us in the teeth if they saw that people were wasting their bodies away all for an “image”. We all need to eat in order to live. We’re one in the same.

Most models out there play the game right- they were born with a gorgeous body and good metabolism. They eat right and let themselves go sometimes, like we all tend to do. But that’s living, right? Enjoying the moment. The rest of us just have to work that little bit harder for a lean body, but the taste of satisfaction is worth it in the end. The ones that work for it are stronger.

Please, to all the girls and boys out there… never lose sight of yourself.
